Happy Thanksgiving
from MAGLife Church

How is this for a Thanksgiving thought starter…
God is thankful for you!

I don’t know about you, but my initial response to that statement is WHAT?!!! Did I hear that right? Did I read that right? God is thankful for me?!!

It’s true! God has a special place in His heart for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving for you! Sure, we as God’s children have so much to be thankful for. Words could never express, list or contain all of the things that we as God’s children have to be thankful for.

Okay, so what about, “God being thankful for us”? Thanksgiving in Heaven?
I think so…This is what the Word says:

For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 7:6

I have thought and celebrated Thanksgiving many times but I have to admit, I have never thought of it in quite this way. God is thankful for me. God is thankful for you. We are God’s Thanksgiving, Holy to the Lord and chosen by Him as His treasured possession.

If you listen close…
you can almost hear God saying…

Happy Thanksgiving

“Magnify Him with Thanksgiving”

Many times I have heard people say, “Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday”. I get it. Thanksgiving seems like a time of holiday goodness without any strings attached. Family and friends coming together to eat, visit and reflect on all the things that we are most thankful for.

I hope that your Thanksgiving season is blessed and filled with all of the things previously mentioned plus, quiet meaningful reflection of God and His many blessings to us. The Bible teaches that all good things come from God. Now is our time to say thanks.

This is the season of Thanksgiving. For that matter, every season is a season of Thanksgiving for those who know, trust and depend on God. In scripture David expressed it in this way.

I will bless the LORD at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
 My soul makes its boast in the LORD;
let the humble hear and be glad.
Oh, magnify the LORD with me,
and let us exalt his name together!
                              Psalm 34:1-3

I will praise the name of God with a song;
I will magnify him with thanksgiving.
                                 Psalm 69:30

I hope your singing…If not yet, I hope you will soon. I will praise the name of God with a song, I will magnify Him with Thanksgiving!

Vision/Faith

By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
Hebrews 11:3

The life of faith is always one of intrigue. Trusting a God that we can’t naturally see, but believing for things that seem impossible, and knowing that God has the ability to simply speak and the miracle is done.

Wow! This life of faith takes us on the most amazing adventures ever! There is no better existence then the life we find through faith. In the gospels, Matthew 19:26, Jesus reminds us “But with God all things are possible.”

MAG Life Church is a spirit filled, faith based and exciting place to experience God. We invite you to join us!

5 Stones of Vision

How long has it been since you read the encounter of David and Goliath? This favorite story is found in 1 Samuel 17and it always brings thoughts of vision, faith and accomplishment. Vision always requires faith and faith always creates vision. Isn’t it amazing how that works?!!

While rereading this story recently, it occurred to me that like David’s five stones referred to in this passage; we can establish 5 stones of vision combined with faith.

1. David; A guy with vision/faith in his heart.

2. Goliath; A guy with a stone in his forehead.

It is pretty easy to figure out which one is better!

5 Stones of Vision
1. Vision/Faith stems from passion.
1 Samuel 17:26

2. Vision/Faith does not always require a fit.
1 Samuel 17:38-39

3. Vision/Faith begins with what you already have.
1 Samuel 17:40

4. Vision/Faith takes aggressive action.
1 Samuel 17:48-49

5. Vision/Faith requires a fling.
1 Samuel 17:50-51

Pick up these 5 stones of vision/faith and you will be ready to take on any giant you face.

If people can’t see what God is doing,
they stumble all over themselves;
But when they attend to what he reveals,
they are most blessed.
                          Proverbs 29:18 MSG
