“HERE TO SERVE!”

Our February sermon series at MAGLife Church and our theme for the year is “Here To Serve.”

When the Old Testament prophet Isaiah had a special encounter with God, his life changed forever. If there is such a thing as a “regular” prophet, after this special encounter with God, he became, for lack of a better term, a prophet on steroids! You can read about his experience in Isaiah, Chapter 6, and I am telling you, this encounter changed his life forever. The result of that experience for Isaiah was a stepped up effort to truly serve God and man with all that he had. He became one of the most renowned prophets in all of history, with his life centering around his response to God when he said, “Here I am . . . . send me!” (Isaiah 6:8)

“Here I am, send me” what an attitude of servanthood! What a great expression of a desire to please God. God is calling each of us to the highest calling in scripture and the title for this calling is “Servant.”

What is God saying to you today? I hope your response will be like Isaiah’s, “Here I am, send me!”

Our new series begins this Sunday! Plus, enjoy fresh praise and worship with our full lineup of singers and musicians, led by our new worship leader, Jared Harder. It’s going to be a great day!

Sunday School begins at 9:00am and our morning worship at 10:00am. We hope to see you this Sunday at MAGLife Church!

“On A Corporate Mission!”

Over the past month at MAG, we have been looking at the mission of the church in our Series “On A Mission,” “On A Journey,” and “On Purpose!” This week’s subject is “On A Corporate Mission.”

The word corporate defined is “of, for, or belonging to a group.” In Biblical terms, we know this as “The Church!” I believe, every church should be On A Corporate Mission, everybody united as a team, working together, to affect our communities and world for Christ.

Our Corporate Mission begins when we come together “Attending, Belonging, & Connecting for Kingdom Purpose!” The best picture I know of the church is outlined in Acts 2:1-4 and Acts 2:42-47. These passages of Scripture identify necessary core values & give specific directions to our 21st Century churches emulating the early formation of “The Church” as we know it.

My prayer for MAG, and for other churches as well, is that we never stray from the early outline of the church established to carry out God’s Corporate Mission.

There is nothing more exciting than being involved with, and attached to, a spirit filled church!

Here are 3 recommendations for anyone who wants to grow spiritually: I call them the ABC’s of church membership:

        1. ATTEND
            Attend – Attend – Attend . . . .
            NO more excuses period!
           Just go to church!

       2. BELONG
Attach yourself to ministry within the church and beyond. Belong to the corporation that God loves most.

       3. CONNECT
           Connect – Connect – Connect . . . .
Connect with others within the local church and then together, proceed with evangelism throughout the world!

On A Corporate Mission, On A Journey, On Purpose!

And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes,
they received their food with glad and generous hearts,
praising God and having favor with all the people.
And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
                                                                                                 Acts 2:46-47 (ESV)

“On A Local Mission!”

In our January sermon series, we are looking at the three part mission of God “On A Mission,” “On A Journey,” and “On Purpose!” God calls each person to a personal mission which begins with personal devotion and obedience to God. David said it best in Psalm 51:10 when he prayed,

Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
                             Psalm 51:10 (ESV)

Then we look at A Local Mission, . . . This involves affecting the immediate area where you are, by becoming salt & light in your own community. Representing Jesus in your home, at work, at school, in the marketplace, and everywhere you go!

On A Local Mission, dedicated and disciplined to serve the people that you see every day. Our local mission field, in other words, the places where we live, work, and play will always be important to our mission. Yes, God calls us places, but I believe He expects us to affect and take others along with us as we go.

In our mission to serve God, let’s never forget or underestimate the value of being salt & light to our immediate circles of influence. As the King James Version puts it . . . .

And ye shall be witnesses unto me
both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria,
and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
                                                   Acts 1:8 (KJV)

On A Local Mission always has been and always will be a significant journey and the very heart beat of God!

“On A Mission 2017!”

A New Year, a new day, and a fresh call! Life is exciting when you accept your mission to serve God! Did you know that God has called you on a mission? Every mission involves a journey, and every journey is on purpose, when you accept and follow the call of God. Life gets exciting!

And we know that for those who love God
all things work together for good,
for those who are called according to his purpose.
                                                             Romans 8:28 (ESV)

There are three category’s of missions in 2017 that I would like to remind you of. God has called each of us to a Personal Mission, a Local Mission, and a Corporate Mission. Our January sermon series at MAG is all about the thrill and opportunities we have by accepting God’s great mission.

1. First, we receive a Personal Mission. God calling us to be conformed to the likeness of Christ. (Romans 8:29)

2. Then we move into a Local Mission. This has to do with the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) Jesus has called us to affect the world by making disciples wherever we are.

3. God has called us to a Corporate Mission. This mission has to do with coming together with others in a corporate setting such as church. Engaged in the mission of collectively changing the world for Christ.

Some of you remember the old TV series, that in every episode presented the question “will you accept the mission?” My prayer for you today is that you will listen for the voice of God, receive the assignment, and accept the mission to impact our world.

Kingdom Passion – On Purpose!

“On A Mission 2017!” And we know it’s going to be good. (Romans 8:28)
