Thoughts from the Pastor

“Get In The Boat!”

Anyone familiar with the ministry of Jesus covered in the Gospels of the New Testament has to know the story of “getting out of the boat and walking with Jesus.” We would all agree that there are certainly times to get out of the boat!

Today, I want you to think of “getting into the boat.” Sometimes you just need to “get in the boat, and let the boat float!” Remember the story of Noah and his family in Genesis, Chapter 7, God told Noah “Get In The Boat!”

Then the LORD said to Noah,
“Go into the ark, you and all your household,
for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.”
                                                                                          Genesis 7:1 (ESV)

Whenever doubt, fear, confusion, or anxiety of any kind occurs in our life, don’t forget to “Get In The Boat!” Sometimes life gets stormy, but God remembered Noah and God will remember you.

But God remembered Noah
and all the beasts and all the livestock that were with him in the ark.
And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided.
                                                                                           Genesis 8:1 (ESV)

Life is full of surprises but God is Faithful. Like Noah, God will provide an ark of safety for you. Is life challenging for you today? Maybe, just maybe, God is reminding you to “Get In The Boat & and let the boat float!”

God is in control! God always provides!

Thoughts from the Pastor

This week we had the privilege of baptizing six people after our Sunday morning service at MAGLife Church! Other things come and go from time to time, but when we see people dedicate their lives to Jesus, to follow His footsteps in water baptism, we know that our mission is on track. God is good and things are happening at church! I hope you can join us this Sunday as our theme continues “Here To Serve.”

In Mark 1:9-11, we read of Jesus being baptized in water. What an amazing model for us to follow of submission, servanthood and sacrifice. Jesus, as our perfect example, showed us in every way what it takes to please God. On the day He was baptized, God showed His favor by saying “You are my beloved son; with you I am well pleased!”

Baptism represents a heart of submission, a desire to serve, and a willingness to sacrifice. My prayer for you today is that you are “fully baptized,” submerged in Jesus, and ready to serve! I hope you can join us this Sunday at MAGLife Church!

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
“Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”
Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
                                                     Isaiah 6:8 (ESV)

Thoughts from the Pastor

Again this week we welcome you to join us in worship at MAGLife Church! Our theme this year is “Here To Serve” and our journey continues in this series by focusing on

“His Work, His Will, His Way!”

Recently, while reading the Lord’s Prayer, I discovered three distinct principles in offering our true service to God. In Matthew, Chapter 6, Jesus teaches us how to pray. In Verse 9, He says to pray like this:

Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
                                                               Matthew 6:9-13 (ESV)

     (1) vs. 10a - Your Kingdom come  (His Work)
     (2) vs. 10b - Your Will Be Done  (His Will)
     (3) vs. 10c - On Earth As It Is In Heaven  (His Way)

Serving God means being about His Kingdom  (His Work)

Serving God is about His Will being done

Serving God means doing His Work, His Will, His Way, on earth as it is in heaven:

Life is sweet, when we as servants, fall on our knees before God and offer our full service to Him.

“His Work, His Will, His Way!”

Please join us this week as our series continues at MAGLife Church!

Thoughts from the Pastor

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
“Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”
Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
                                 Isaiah 6:8 (ESV)

Then I said “Here I am! Send me!” What a great ending to a story, and what a great beginning for an adventure! All of us that love Jesus talk about being available for service to Him. I would like to believe that no matter what God asked of me today, my response would be “Here I am . . . . send me!”

I would also like to believe that upon every encounter and challenge that life brings me, I would also say “Here I am, send me!” Making ourselves available to God and responding with affirmative action, always ready, always in season, and always being willing to step out by faith. This is my prayer today, maybe yours as well.

Dear Lord,
I desire to hear your voice and I am willing to act upon my faith in you, believing for miracles in every aspect of my life. Find in me a repentant heart and a submissive will. Give me the will to be obedient as I quickly respond to your voice. I am here to serve. “Here I am, . . . . send me!”

We invite you to join us this Sunday at MAGLife Church as our journey continues in our series “Here To Serve.” Life giving Sunday School begins at 9:00am with our Morning Worship service for everyone beginning at 10:00am. Make a difference, hear God’s voice and respond to His call by saying “Here I am . . . . send me!”
